Mangaluru Police have uncovered an illegal cattle transportation case within the Bajpe Police Station limits, seizing property worth approximately rS8.42 lakh.
On March 18 at around 4:45 am, police received a tip-off that four cattle were being transported cruelly, with their legs tied, in a Fortuner at Sastavu area, Badaga Edapadavu village. Acting swiftly, a team led by ACP Srikanth and PI Balakrishna, along with PSI Latha and staff, conducted a raid and seized the vehicle.
The police recovered four cattle, the Fortuner car, a sword, and an iron rod. Two accused, Nissar and Mohammed Jamaluddin, have been arrested and produced before the court.
Authorities have formed a special team to trace other suspects who remain absconding and urged the public to report any information regarding illegal cattle transportation in the area.
