In a major operation against international drug trafficking, the Siliguri Special Task Force (STF) arrested Goodluck, a Nigerian national and alleged mastermind behind a transnational cocaine trafficking network. He was apprehended in Gurgaon, Haryana, in possession of three fake passports and two mobile phones suspected to be linked to the drug ring.
The breakthrough came after an STF raid on January 11, which led to the seizure of 93 grams of cocaine from a local textile trader, Sartaj Alam (alias Ali Bhai), in Siliguri. Interrogation of Alam revealed another contact, Pasaon Moktan, who was subsequently arrested. Both individuals confirmed that Goodluck was the main supplier, orchestrating drug shipments from South Africa to India, with distribution managed through multiple handlers.
Goodluck had been living illegally in India for 12 years, according to STF sources, and built his base of operations in Haryana. He was caught in a sting operation where STF officers posed as buyers to lure him into a transaction.
Upon his arrest, Goodluck was brought to Siliguri on transit remand and presented in court, where he was remanded for 10 days. The STF has launched a deeper probe, analyzing his mobile data to identify more associates involved in the international cocaine trade.
