New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has dismantled an international drug syndicate with the arrest of three individuals, including a Nigerian national, and the seizure of 194 grams of cocaine valued at Rs2.25 crore.
Authorities received a tip-off on September 6, revealing that two men, Rahul Wadhwa (32) and Abdul Kadir (29), were planning to deliver a cocaine consignment in Sector 36, Rohini. Acting swiftly, officers intercepted the duo around 3 p.m. while they were allegedly finalizing the deal. Police recovered 85 grams of cocaine from their possession, leading to their arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to DCP (Crime) Pankaj Kumar, the accused disclosed that the drugs were supplied by Chimezie Lazarus Ndedinigwe, also known as Zudo (35), a Nigerian resident of Mehrauli, who allegedly manages cocaine distribution across the Delhi-NCR region.
Following the lead, a team tracked down Zudo on September 10 and arrested him from his Mehrauli residence, recovering an additional 109 grams of cocaine.
Investigations revealed that Abdul Kadir, a former taxi driver, was recruited by Zudo, who paid him Rs1,000 for each delivery. Kadir later introduced Wadhwa to the network, expanding the operation.
Police added that Zudo initially came to India in January 2023 for medical treatment but soon began supplying cocaine across Delhi, Gurgaon, Meerut, Chandigarh, and Haldwani.
