Nicole Root Arrested in San Mateo Lululemon Theft

Police Recover $1,736 in Stolen Merchandise

A San Francisco woman has been arrested after police say she shoplifted more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from a Lululemon store in San Mateo.

According to the San Mateo Police Department, officers responded Sunday afternoon to the Lululemon store at Hillsdale Shopping Center following reports of a theft that had just occurred.

After obtaining a description of the suspect, officers searched the surrounding area and detained a woman who matched it. Authorities identified her as Nicole Root, 46, of San Francisco.

Police said they recovered $1,736 in stolen Lululemon merchandise. Officers also reported finding an illegal switchblade knife and drug paraphernalia in her possession.

Root was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, possession of an illegal switchblade, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

Her arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
