After a two-year investigation, authorities have apprehended Nicole Kelly, a suspect linked to a car burglary and identity theft case in Kissimmee, Florida.
The incident occurred on November 2, 2022, when deputies from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO) responded to a reported car burglary at 80 Lakeview Drive. The victim, who had been conducting a fire inspection at a nearby construction site, returned to find her vehicle’s passenger window smashed and her purse missing. The purse contained important items, including her iPhone, credit cards, driver’s license, and social security number.
Further investigation revealed that three checks were deposited into the victim’s bank account, one of which had been fraudulently withdrawn for $1,670. Surveillance footage from The Space Coast Credit Union helped identify a woman, later confirmed as Nicole Kelly, using the drive-through lane to conduct transactions. Using facial recognition technology, detectives confirmed Kelly’s involvement in the crime.
Kelly was arrested on Monday and faces several charges, including uttering a forged instrument, using a personal ID of another person, and grand theft involving amounts between $750 and $5000.
