BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A 23-year-old Birmingham man, Nicholas Cardell Pritchett, is facing multiple felony charges following a major drug and weapons arrest on July 12, 2025.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted a 2018 Hyundai Sonata that had previously been reported stolen. A traffic stop was initiated, and Pritchett was taken into custody without incident.
The search led to the discovery of a significant amount of illegal substances and weapons. Authorities seized:
56 grams of methamphetamine
103 grams of marijuana
5 hydrocodone pills
A Ghost AR-15 style pistol
A digital scale
Pritchett has been charged with:
Drug trafficking
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance
Unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree
Receiving stolen property
Using a false identity to avoid arrest
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Felony probation violation
He is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.

Pritchett’s arrest is part of ongoing efforts to crack down on violent crime and drug trafficking in the Birmingham area.
