FRESNO, Calif. – On March 22, 2026, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a stolen Ford pickup at First and Shaw Avenue. The 38-year-old suspect, Nicholas Lefall, fled at high speed, weaving through traffic and reaching up to 75 mph.
The chase ended at First and Bullard when Lefall rammed into a stopped Subaru. He then exited the vehicle and ran across the street, prompting a foot pursuit by deputies. Assistance from the EAGLE One helicopter guided officers to the suspect, who was eventually apprehended.
Traffic was delayed for over two hours as deputies and Fresno Police processed the scene and arranged for the disabled vehicles to be towed.
Lefall faces charges of auto theft, evading police, and resisting arrest. He is currently on probation under the state’s Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) program. This incident marks his 39th arrest in Fresno County since 2011.
