STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – New bodycam footage reveals the moment Mackenzie Shirilla, an Ohio teen convicted of intentionally crashing her car at 100 mph, was arrested for the deaths of Dominic Russo, 20, and Davion Flanagan, 19.
The July 31, 2022 crash, captured on surveillance footage, showed Shirilla’s 2018 Toyota Camry accelerating before slamming into a brick building, killing her boyfriend Russo and their friend Flanagan on impact. Shirilla, then 17, was found unconscious in the wreckage.
Teen Convicted of Murder in 2023
Following a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court trial, Judge Nancy Margaret Russo ruled that Shirilla’s actions were intentional, describing her as “literal hell on wheels.”
In August 2023, Shirilla was convicted on 12 counts, including:
✔️ Murder (2 counts)
✔️ Aggravated vehicular homicide
✔️ Felonious assault
✔️ Drug possession (Marijuana and THC were found in her system)
She was sentenced to life in prison with parole eligibility after 15 years.
