In a late-night encounter near Newada Canal Road, Pratapgarh, police injured criminal Neeraj Pasi alias Kuldeep and arrested him along with two accomplices, Sanjeev Kumar alias Tufani and Abhishek Soni alias Chote, officials confirmed.
The gang is suspected of looting a jeweller near Awasanganj on July 28. Authorities seized looted jewellery, a bike, a scooty, and two country-made pistols of 0.315 and 0.12 bore from the crime scene, along with live and used cartridges.
Neeraj Pasi hails from Matadeen Ka Purwa, Prayagraj, while his two accomplices are residents of Phaphamau.
Police continue investigations into the robbery and the gang’s other possible criminal activities.
