The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled six major drug syndicates across Nigeria, seizing tonnes of illicit substances and arresting nine key figures.

On November 18, 2025, NDLEA operatives in Onitsha, Anambra State, apprehended two members of a trafficking organisation attempting to collect a shipment containing 5.4 kg of methamphetamine, 10.7 kg of cannabis, and other drugs concealed in imported pressure machine cylinders from South Africa. Electrical appliances dealer Ebulue Lotanwa Uzochukwu, 30, was arrested first, followed by 51-year-old Christopher Michael Ndibuisi.

In a separate operation on November 20, 2025, at Lagos airport, agents intercepted 2.3 kg of cocaine hidden among auto parts, arresting freight agent Ameh Solomon and auto parts dealer Nwafor Tochukwu Boniface.

Other significant seizures included 4,700 kg of skunk in Kogi State with three suspects, the arrest of kingpin Marcus Danladi Dan Mangu in Plateau State, and 4,706 kg of cannabis at a Cross River warehouse held by a couple, Onun Okoi Okpotum, 55, and Itam Okoi Okpotum, 52.

In Edo State, two women—Praise Nwogu, 19, and Ebong Emem Oghosa, 25—were arrested for producing and selling drug-laced brownies, while Shedrack Aminu was found with 59 kg of skunk in Akoko-Edo. Additional arrests included Chinoso Emmanuel Monday in Enugu with drugs and ammunition, and Umar Adamu in Kebbi State with over 12,500 opioid pills.

NDLEA Chairman and CEO Brig.-Gen. Mohamed Marwa (rtd) praised the operatives involved, underscoring the agency’s dedication to combating drug abuse and trafficking nationwide.
