STURTEVANT, Wis. — A Racine County man is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after authorities say he broke into several vehicles and stole property worth thousands of dollars in Sturtevant late last month.
Court records show 34-year-old Naython Bergeron-Davila is charged with one count of criminal damage to property, three counts of theft, and four counts of bail jumping.
Racine County deputies began investigating during the early morning hours of January 27 after reports of multiple vehicle break-ins near 92nd Street and Michigan Avenue. Authorities said a suspect entered a couple’s SUV and pickup truck parked in a driveway, stealing backpacks, shoes, medications, and a grease gun. The pickup truck’s center console was also damaged.
Deputies later found another vehicle in a nearby alley had been ransacked. The owner reported that items were stolen from both the vehicle and her garage, including a portable jump starter, numerous tools, and car stereo equipment. The theft caused damage to the vehicle’s dashboard.
The sheriff’s office estimated the total value of stolen property exceeded $2,500. Surveillance footage from the area captured the suspect multiple times between 11:10 p.m. and 1:40 a.m. Investigators traced the suspect’s movements to an apartment complex near 87th Street and Corliss Avenue.
Detectives identified Bergeron-Davila as a suspect and learned he was already on probation. With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, deputies arrested him on January 29 and executed a search warrant at his apartment, where some of the stolen property was recovered.
According to the sheriff’s office, Bergeron-Davila admitted to committing the thefts after being taken into custody.
