Navdeep Singh Charged in $100K Plot to Kidnap and Kill Rival

MINEOLA, N.Y. — Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder announced charges against Navdeep Singh, 48, of Dix Hills, for allegedly conspiring to kidnap and kill a man involved in a long-running business dispute.

Singh was arraigned Sunday before Judge Lisa Locurto on charges of Conspiracy in the Second Degree and Criminal Solicitation in the Second Degree. His bail was set at $1 million cash, $2 million bond, and $5 million partially secured bond. Singh was ordered to surrender his passport and is due back in court on June 10, 2025. Conviction could bring up to 25 years in prison.

DA Donnelly described the allegations as “deeply disturbing,” noting the defendant’s willingness to pay $100,000 and grant 10 acres of land in India to a hitman to kidnap, torture, extort, and kill a former business associate. The dispute stems from a multi-million dollar civil litigation involving Singh’s company, Gravity Construction Corp.

Police Commissioner Ryder praised the efforts of the Nassau County Police Department’s District Attorney Squad and prosecutors for preventing a potential tragedy, stating, “We stopped this dangerous plot and protected a Nassau County resident.”

According to the charges, between May 29 and June 3, 2025, Singh met multiple times with a co-conspirator, outlining plans to kidnap and kill the victim. The victim had been involved in ongoing litigation with Singh’s company for roughly two years, following a business fallout.

Singh allegedly offered the hitman $100,000 plus 10 acres of land in India for kidnapping the victim, torturing and extorting him, and ultimately killing him out of state. He also took photos of the victim’s home and vehicle to aid identification.

To evade detection, Singh reportedly purchased several burner phones for the conspirators and made a $7,000 down payment toward the plot.

Singh was arrested on June 7, 2025, in Manhasset after being seen near the victim’s residence.

The case is prosecuted by Unit Chief Kelsey Lorer of the Organized Crimes and Rackets Bureau, with supervision by Bureau Chief Jeremy Glicksman and Executive Assistant DA Rick Whelan. Singh was represented by The Legal Aid Society.

These are allegations; Singh is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
