FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) – An Alabama man, Nathaniel Wigfall, was arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop on U.S. 23 in Flatwoods led to a major drug bust.
According to the Flatwoods Police Department, the stop resulted in the seizure of 142 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 8 grams of fentanyl, and a large amount of cash.
Police say a K-9 unit alerted officers to the presence of narcotics on the passenger side of the vehicle. After a brief struggle, Wigfall was taken into custody.
Wigfall now faces charges of:
Trafficking in a controlled substance
Resisting arrest
The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
