A 49-year-old man from Kyle, South Dakota, Nathan Tobacco-Clifford, has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. He pleaded guilty on April 23, 2025, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.
Tobacco-Clifford distributed methamphetamine in the Pine Ridge and Rapid City areas. He, along with several others, traveled to Greeley, Colorado, to obtain meth from co-defendant Misty Hornbeck.
Law enforcement apprehended Tobacco-Clifford and his co-conspirators in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, as they returned from one such trip. The group admitted to selling meth to support their drug habits.
Court records indicate that the conspiracy involved distributing between 500 grams and 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.
