On November 29, unknown thieves broke into Bhagwan Mahale’s residence in Velunje, Trimbakeshwar, stealing gold ornaments and cash totaling Rs5,23,174. A case was registered under Section 305(A) of the IPC.
Subsequently, on December 15, intruders threatened Ajay Dhongde and his mother at their home in Waghera Shivara, Harsul, with a sickle and knife before forcibly stealing gold and mobile phones worth Rs26,500. A case was registered under multiple IPC sections.
Under the supervision of Nashik Rural SP Vikram Deshmane and ASP Aditya Mirkhelkar, a Local Crime Branch team led by Inspector Raju Surve arrested five suspects from Nashik city areas including Ambad, Chunchale, and Gangapur. The accused — Aditya Sonawane, Kiran Jadhav, Gopal Udhe, and Sunny Katare — confessed to renting a car to carry out the crimes over the past two months.
Rs17,000 was recovered during their arrest. The accused have multiple prior cases related to robbery, theft, and weapon offenses. Investigations are ongoing to check for additional linked crimes.
