During a vehicle checking drive ahead of Rath Yatra, Naroda police arrested three men carrying stolen cash while entering Ahmedabad via Chiloda bridge. The police recovered Rs 24,01,000 in cash and three mobile phones valued at Rs 17,000 from the suspects.

The trio, acting suspiciously with bags in their possession, was stopped by a Naroda police team. A search conducted in the presence of witnesses revealed bundles of Rs 500 and Rs 200 notes. Upon interrogation, the accused admitted to stealing the money from an angadia employee traveling from Bareilly to Delhi by bus on June 17. They had tracked the victim’s movements and executed a planned theft, said police inspector P V Gohil.

Another accused, Rohan Parmar from Vadasma, remains absconding. The case is linked to a complaint filed at the Link Road police station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and the investigation is ongoing.
