The Naresh Kumar Sikri (57) and his wife Sharda Sikri (55) from Dwarka Sector-9, New Delhi, have been arrested for allegedly selling the same apartment to multiple buyers and collecting between Rs2–2.5 crore through fraudulent agreements.
The Dwarka South Police traced the couple to Greater Noida following technical surveillance and intelligence gathering before taking them into custody.
This case stems from two complaints filed in 2024 under FIR No. 11/2024 and FIR No. 346/2024 at Dwarka South Police Station. Complainants reported that the accused accepted payments for the sale of their flat but failed to execute the sale deed and subsequently absconded. Investigations revealed that the property had been mortgaged and sold multiple times to raise funds.
During legal proceedings, Sharda Sikri was declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Dwarka Court. Both accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Further investigation is ongoing.
Separate Mobile Snatching Case
In another 2024 case, a husband-wife duo, Maroof Khan and his wife Shahida Soni, were arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly snatching a mobile phone near Vijay Sariya Shop, Main Road, Chander Nagar at 6 AM.
The complaint was registered under Sections 356, 379, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code at Jagat Puri Police Station. CCTV footage review and confidential sources identified the suspects, linking them to a scooter theft on May 4, 2024, previously registered at Shakarpur Police Station. A raid led to their arrest and recovery of the stolen phone and scooter, which were seized.
