In a significant narcotics crackdown, the Nand Nagri Police arrested a notorious drug peddler, Harish Golu (30), recovering 41.24 grams of smack along with Rs4,220 in cash.
Acting on a tip-off received in the afternoon, a swift team led by SHO/PS Nand Nagri, including PSI Vaishali, head constables Deepak and Rohit, and constables Paramjeet and Rohan, under the supervision of ACP/Nand Nagri, rushed to a location near E-Block, Nand Nagri.
The suspect, attempting to escape into a nearby house, was promptly apprehended by the team.
A search conducted under the guidelines of the NDPS Act led to the seizure of narcotics and cash from Harish’s possession. Subsequently, a case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Nand Nagri, and investigations commenced immediately.
Interrogation revealed that Harish, a resident of Jhuggi Sunder Nagri, has a criminal history with involvement in four prior cases related to the NDPS Act, Delhi Excise Act, and Arms Act. He also provided information regarding his supply chain, which police are currently verifying.
This arrest underscores the continuous efforts by law enforcement to curb drug trafficking and maintain public safety in the region.
