In a significant crackdown on illegal drug consumption and rave parties, a joint operation by Nagpur’s crime branch unit, the Social Security Branch (SSB), and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit raided a farmhouse on Kamptee Road early on Sunday. The raid, carried out between 1 am and 5 am, targeted a rave party where Mephedrone (MD) was being consumed.

Following credible intelligence, police stormed the venue near Asha Hospital, apprehending eight individuals: four businessmen and four women. The businessmen, aged between 48 and 61, were caught at the party venue, consuming liquor with young women. Authorities seized MD, cash, hookah pots, and luxury vehicles, underscoring the scale of the illicit operation.

The arrested businessmen were identified as Sunil Agrawal (61), Gautam Jain (51), Nilesh Gadhiya (61), and Mitesh Khakar (48), while the women arrested were aged 23 to 34 years. Police stated that the women claimed to be the friends of the businessmen. Agrawal, a resident of Kamptee, was reported to have organized the event, and the MD was allegedly procured from a person named Shekhu, who remains on the run.
