Nagpur Police Arrest Ashish Kamble in Liquor Car Theft

Liquor smuggling and vehicle theft busted ahead of Holi

The Nagpur Police Crime Branch – Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad has arrested Ashish Kamble for allegedly stealing a car to smuggle liquor into Wardha district, where prohibition is in force. The arrest was made on Friday after police intercepted a vehicle carrying 384 liquor bottles, which Ashish intended to sell ahead of Holi. Both the car and the liquor were seized.

The operation was conducted on the directions of DCP Rahul Maknikar. Police laid a trap in the Ganeshpeth area following information about a car transporting liquor to Wardha. Investigators revealed that the liquor was supplied to Ashish by a person named Atul, who owns a beer bar in Multai, Madhya Pradesh.

In a related case, the squad also solved a car theft incident from Chandmari, Wathoda, arresting Mrudang alias Mrunal Sarode. Police stated that Ashish Kamble is also implicated in the theft, having previously stolen the vehicle to smuggle liquor.
