A Corning woman has been arrested on multiple felony charges following a welfare fraud investigation in Steuben County, New York.
Nadeen Gauby, 26, was taken into custody on March 3 and charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, welfare fraud in the third degree, falsifying business records in the first degree, and grand larceny in the third degree.
Investigators determined that between August 21, 2025, and February 28, 2026, Gauby filed false documents with social services and received $4,240 in benefits she was not entitled to.
The case was developed through a coordinated investigation by the Steuben County Department of Social Services, the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.
Gauby was processed in court and subsequently released pending further proceedings.
