MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) – A woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly shooting her husband during a domestic dispute in the Blenheim area of Marlboro County.
Nadaya McRae faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to Chief Deputy Larry Turner of the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on Saturday, when McRae and her husband became involved in an argument. During the dispute, McRae allegedly pulled a firearm and fired, striking her husband in the neck. Authorities confirmed that one round grazed his neck while another damaged the home’s interior.
After fleeing the scene, McRae later called 911 to report the shooting. Her husband was airlifted to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in good condition.
McRae turned herself in to investigators at the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon. She is currently being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center, with a bond hearing to be scheduled.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Investigator C. Bulusan.
