NACOGDOCHES, Texas — A 17-year-old Nacogdoches High School student, Jared Garcia, was arrested on Friday after a gun and several vapes were discovered in his vehicle and on his person.
According to arrest documents, ISD police officers were conducting a parking lot patrol when they noticed a stray round of ammunition in a vehicle. After searching the car, authorities found a Glock 19 handgun with a 17-round magazine, as well as a THC vape.
Police say Garcia was questioned at the scene, and additional vapes — including another THC vape and a nicotine vape — were discovered on him.
The case has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office for further prosecution. Garcia faces charges related to possession of the firearm and controlled substances.
