NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A 54-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night in New Haven after allegedly threatening someone with a handgun during a neighborhood dispute, according to local police.
Officers responded around 8 p.m. to the area of Jennings Way and Bosley Street, where a victim reported that a neighbor had brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot during an argument.
The suspect, identified as Musafa Bey, was found in possession of a .40 caliber handgun with its serial number obliterated. Police also recovered live ammunition.
Bey, a convicted felon, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including:
Two counts of criminal possession of a firearm or ammunition
Negligent storage of a firearm
Alteration of a firearm identification
Threatening in the first degree
Authorities emphasized the seriousness of the charges, especially given Bey’s criminal history and the altered condition of the firearm. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
