On August 19, Sribhumi police conducted a successful raid at Poyamara Bypass, intercepting two suspects and recovering a massive consignment of 29,400 yaba tablets valued at several crores.
The arrested accused have been identified as Munin Ahmed (32) and Salman Ahmed (28), both residents of Kanishail locality in Sribhumi. Acting on specific intelligence, officers apprehended the duo while they were in possession of the synthetic drugs.
Both suspects are currently under interrogation as part of an ongoing investigation aiming to uncover the wider supply chain and possible interstate drug trafficking networks linked to this haul.
Officials hailed this seizure as a major blow to synthetic drug traffickers in the region and confirmed that intensified operations will continue to combat narcotics trafficking.
