The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Coimbatore city arrested a father-son duo from Mumbai on Saturday for allegedly cheating a jewellery showroom in Coimbatore out of gold worth over Rs2.5 crore.

The arrested individuals, Kumar Jain (55) and his son Kunal Jain (30), are associated with the Mumbai-based TSK Jewellers. According to CCB officials, the two men were involved in a scam where they deceived the jewellery showroom into parting with a large quantity of gold bullion under false pretenses.

The CCB initiated an investigation based on a complaint from the showroom, leading to the arrest of the Jains. Both Kumar and Kunal have been taken into custody and are facing charges related to fraud and cheating.

The case has raised concerns about fraudulent activities within the gold trade, particularly involving high-value transactions and deceitful practices. The CCB is continuing its investigation to uncover further details about the scam.
