MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) continues its crackdown on illegal drug trafficking with the arrest of three individuals in Bong and Nimba Counties, seizing narcotics valued at over USD 3,500 in separate incidents.
In Nimba County, 28-year-old Dominic Paye, also known as “Messiah,” was apprehended on April 4, 2025, at the Ganta Checkpoint during a routine security operation. Authorities recovered three grams of Kush and 10 strips of Tramadol with an estimated street value of LRD 32,000. Paye has been formally charged and forwarded to the Gompa Magisterial Court, where he remains in custody awaiting trial.
Meanwhile, in Bong County, two suspected traffickers were arrested at the Belefana Joint Security Checkpoint on April 5, 2025, around 11:30 p.m. The primary suspect, Mulbah Forkpah, a 41-year-old resident of Gbarnga, was intercepted while traveling by motorbike toward Lofa County.
A search revealed 56.7 grams of cocaine and 26.5 grams of Kush, with an estimated street value of USD 3,060 (LRD 581,400) and USD 530 (LRD 100,700) respectively.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Forkpah’s alleged accomplice and girlfriend, 46-year-old Frances David, also from Gbarnga. Authorities confirmed her involvement in the trafficking operation, and she is now in custody.
The LDEA reiterated its commitment to fighting narcotics distribution in Liberia, emphasizing that additional arrests and prosecutions are expected as investigations continue.
