Gurgaon police arrested a 29-year-old man, Mujammil, near Sector 45 on Thursday. Authorities recovered a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from him.
Mujammil, a resident of Shikarpur village in Nuh district, had a reward of Rs20,000 on his head in Rajasthan for his involvement in two ATM robberies and an assault case in Jhunjhunu district.
Officials said further investigation revealed that Mujammil has around 10 cases registered against him in multiple states. In Haryana’s Nuh district, he faces charges of murder, theft, and burglary. He is also wanted in Maharashtra for attempted murder and in Telangana for theft and burglary.
During questioning, Mujammil admitted to being part of a gang responsible for several ATM heists. He revealed that he had purchased the pistol from someone in Nuh and intended to use it in a robbery before being apprehended.
Police have registered a case under the Arms Act, and the investigation is ongoing to trace his accomplices and other criminal activities.
