Amid a wave of Kurdish arrests following the recent ceasefire between Iran and Israel, civil activist Mousa Omidi has been detained by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the city of Ilam.
According to reports from the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Omidi was arrested on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, after IRGC forces raided his family home. The arrest was carried out without presenting a court warrant, and agents reportedly confiscated several personal items, including his mobile phone, laptop, and books.
Omidi, known for his peaceful civic engagement, had previously been summoned and interrogated multiple times by Iranian security agencies. However, the authorities have not disclosed the reason for his latest detention, any formal charges, or his current whereabouts.
This incident adds to growing concerns about Iran’s ongoing suppression of Kurdish activists, especially in the aftermath of political developments in the region.
