In a major drug bust, five alleged drug peddlers, including a mother-son duo, were arrested on Sunday with contraband in their possession in the Jammu and Kathua districts. The police, acting on a tip-off, apprehended the suspects during a series of checks.
Shamoo and her son Ravi, both residents of Rajiv Nagar, were detained in Jammu’s Chowadhi area, where police recovered nearly 50 grams of heroin from them.
In another operation, two peddlers, Adil Gull and Rayees, residents of Anantnag, were arrested after over 30 grams of heroin was discovered in their car during a check at a warehouse in Jammu.
Additionally, Vinod Singh, a drug peddler from Kathua, was arrested for selling charas to a youth in the Bani area. The police seized around 85 grams of contraband from his possession.
All five suspects have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigations are ongoing.
