SCHENECTADY, NY — Monica Mahabeer, 34, of Schenectady, was arrested and charged with identity theft and grand larceny following a fraud complaint in Clifton Park, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Mahabeer was taken into custody Thursday after an investigation into a complaint filed on December 27, 2024, involving the use of stolen personal identifying information.
She is accused of knowingly assuming another person’s identity and using that information to obtain goods and services exceeding $2,000. Additionally, Mahabeer faces charges for stealing credit card information belonging to another individual.
Mahabeer was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and is currently held at Schenectady County Jail on separate charges.
