
BRIDGEPORT, Wis. (WFRV) — Two Iowa residents were arrested in Bridgeport, Wisconsin, on Sunday after deputies responded to a shoplifting report that uncovered a range of drug-related offenses.
According to Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick, officers arrived at the scene and found 38-year-old Molly Schlegel of Postville and 39-year-old Nathan Bantz of Elgin in possession of multiple illegal substances.
Deputies located methamphetamine in Schlegel’s purse, along with hypodermic needles. Bantz was found with marijuana and meth, and a K9 unit from Prairie Du Chien Police alerted to controlled substances in their vehicle. A search revealed:

A digital scale
Stolen items from another store

Bantz also faces citations for driving with a suspended registration, open intoxicants, and driving without a valid license.
Authorities are continuing the investigation into the source of the stolen items and possible further charges.
