Multiple Arrests in Theft, Chain Snatching Cases

by Ananya Mehta

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, a team from Paltan Bazar Police Station raided a rented house on Ratan Dewan Road in Ulubari and rescued three victims from an alleged brothel. The prime accused, Mollida Talukder (25), was apprehended on the spot. Police also seized objectionable materials from the premises. Legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant laws, including those related to human trafficking and immoral activities.

In a separate operation, Fatasil Ambari Police arrested Rahul Paswan (19) of Manpara, Sitala Mandir Path, for burglary. Two stolen mobile phones were recovered during the arrest.

Additionally, Fatasil Ambari Police arrested three chain snatchers — Moyam Sarkar, Babu Jayachand, and Birkut Mushudaba — following an intensive investigation. All suspects are now in custody, and further legal action is underway.

The Guwahati police continue to act swiftly against criminal elements, aiming to improve public safety in the city.
