In a shocking development, the Pune police have arrested Mohini Wagh, the wife of the murdered Satish Wagh, in connection with the contract killing of her husband. The police investigation revealed that Satish Wagh’s murder was orchestrated as part of a contract killing with a Rs 5 lakh ‘supari’ allegedly paid to the hired killers.
The incident took place on December 9, when Satish Wagh, 55, was abducted during his morning walk in Manjari Budruk. His body was later discovered, brutally murdered, and dumped at Shindavane village, around 50 km from Pune. Police investigations revealed Wagh had been stabbed and beaten with a blunt object.
According to police, Mohini Wagh (48) was arrested on charges of being involved in the conspiracy to kill her husband. She is the sixth person to be arrested in this case. Akshay Harish Jawalkar, a former tenant of Wagh, was the one who allegedly initiated the contract killing due to past enmity with the victim.
The Crime Branch team discovered that the motive behind Wagh’s murder was likely linked to personal grudges and the larger financial scheme that involved multiple people. Wagh’s tragic death has rocked his family, including his wife Mohini and sons Omkar and Abhishek. Additionally, his maternal nephew, BJP legislator Yogesh Tilekar, has expressed shock over the developments.
Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and the police will seek Mohini Wagh’s custody for further interrogation.
