Two alleged drug peddlers, identified as Mohd Mustafa and Usman Choudhary, were arrested on Sunday in the Samba district after being found in possession of 7.5 grams of heroin.
The arrest took place during a vehicle checking operation conducted by police at Vijaypur, located on the Jammu-Pathankot highway. The duo was riding a motorcycle when they were intercepted. Upon search, police recovered the heroin from their possession.
Both accused hail from Badhori village and have been booked under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The police have initiated further investigation to determine if the accused are linked to any larger drug distribution network operating in the region.
