In a well-executed operation, Arunachal Pradesh police arrested Mohammad Lal Mia (35), a suspected drug peddler, and seized 15.28 grams of suspected narcotic substances from his possession.
The operation was conducted by a team from Papu Hills Police Station, led by Inspector Torun Mai (OC) and supported by SI Gyati Lento, ASI Kipa Takia, and Constable P. Saikia, under the supervision of SDPO Rishi Longdo.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding drug activity in the Borum area, officers tracked the suspect to Bagetinali, Nirjuli, where Lal Mia, a resident of Dikumukhiya, North Lakhimpur, Assam, was intercepted. A personal search revealed eight vials containing approximately 15.28 grams of suspected narcotic substances.
A case has been registered under Papu Hills PS Case No. 72/2025 with charges under Sections 21(a), 27, and 27(A) of the NDPS Act. The accused was formally arrested after completing all necessary legal procedures.
The police emphasized that efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region would continue with full intensity.
