Mohammad Darvish Narouei, 22, and Yasin Kebdani, 21—two Baloch men arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement—have been sentenced to death by the Zahedan Revolutionary Court. Alongside them, Benyamin Kouhkan, a political detainee who was only 16 at the time of his arrest, is currently under review, after being transferred to solitary confinement.

According to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the two young men received their death sentences on June 16, 2025. They were convicted on charges of moharebeh (waging war against the state) and efsad fel-arz (corruption on earth). If the sentences are upheld, they face imminent execution.

Benyamin Kouhkan, who was a minor when detained, is held in solitary confinement in the prison’s quarantine section. He has been denied phone contact with family, and no official information has been released regarding his sentence.

Reports confirm that all three detainees were subjected to severe physical and psychological torture during interrogations. They were also denied basic legal rights, including access to legal counsel.

Mohammad Darvish Narouei, Yasin Kebdani, and Benyamin Kouhkan were arrested on January 6, 2023, amid nationwide protests tied to the Women, Life, Freedom movement. After months of intense torture and forced confessions, they were transferred to prison.
