A tragic incident shook Ahmedabad’s Kankaria Lake area as a young woman was allegedly murdered near Gate No. 7 under the jurisdiction of the Maninagar Police Station. Police have identified the accused as the victim’s fiancé, Mohammad Avesh Pathan.
According to initial reports, the incident took place late at night following an argument between the woman, Falaknaz Pathan, and her fiancé. During the altercation, the accused allegedly picked up a stone block lying on the road and repeatedly struck her, inflicting severe head injuries. Falaknaz succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Senior police officials reached the crime scene shortly after receiving information about the incident. Authorities stated that the murder appears to have been committed in a fit of rage following a personal dispute. The exact motive will be determined after detailed interrogation.
Maninagar police have registered a case of murder under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have launched a search to locate the absconding accused. Further investigation is ongoing to gather evidence and establish the circumstances leading up to the crime.
