On Monday, Mohammad Arfan (26) from Kaup, Udupi, was arrested for possession of 6.6 grams of MDMA, a narcotic substance, during a police raid in Vidyarathna Nagar, Manipal.

Police inspector Mahesh Prasad and his team acted on a tip-off about narcotics being stored and sold from a scooter in a public area. Upon reaching the spot, officers located the scooter and conducted a search.

The raid uncovered two mobile phones valued at around Rs60,000 and a white plastic container holding a ziplock bag with 6.6g of MDMA, estimated to be worth Rs13,000.

Arfan was found with the drugs, which police say were intended for sale for personal profit. The items were seized, and a case was registered under the NDPS Act at the Manipal police station. Investigations are ongoing.
