SINGAPORE — Two individuals have been arrested after a viral video surfaced online showing a man being violently assaulted following a suspicious transaction. The incident, which took place in Singapore, prompted swift action from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
The video, posted online on Tuesday (May 7), shows a man handing over a plastic bag containing unknown contents to another man, before turning and repeatedly punching him in the head. The victim was left with a bloodied face.
Following the alert, a joint raid was carried out by officers from the Central Police Division, CID, and CNB in Sengkang West Way, resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman.
The man, identified as Mohammad Amirrul Husni Zakariya, was charged on Thursday for possession of an axe. He is also under investigation for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with common intention, suspected drug use, and weapons possession.

The police reminded the public that it is illegal to import, distribute, or sell e-vaporisers in Singapore. First-time offenders face fines up to S$10,000, six months’ jail, or both. Repeat offenders face double the penalties.
The Singapore Police Force and CNB reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on violence and illegal activities, vowing to prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
