Mohali police have arrested the third suspect in the sensational murder of Ashok Kumari Goyal, wife of former Additional Advocate General Krishna Kumar Goyal, bringing all accused in the case under custody. Authorities confirmed that the latest arrest was of the man who allegedly strangled the victim with the help of two accomplices.
The crime occurred on the night of December 29–30, 2025, at the Goyal residence in Phase-1, Mohali. The FIR was filed by the victim’s son-in-law, Yatiraj Singh. The newly arrested suspect is a close relative of the other accused, being the son of the maternal aunt of the first two arrested individuals.
The case was registered under Sections 331(8), 103, 311, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unknown persons. During the investigation, the accused were identified and formally nominated.
SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said the main conspirator, Neeraj Singh, who worked at the victim’s home, was arrested on January 1, within 48 hours of the initial investigation. His brother Rahul Singh was apprehended from Uttar Pradesh on January 7.
Police have successfully recovered gold and silver ornaments looted during the crime. The investigation into any remaining accomplices or assets is ongoing.
