Mitchell Wasek Charged With Possessing Child Exploitation Files
AUSTIN, Texas — Mitchell Wasek, son of Buc-ee’s co-founder Don Wasek, is now facing an additional felony charge after investigators found child exploitation files on his seized electronic devices, according to newly released court documents.
Discovery of Illegal Content
Wasek, who was already facing 21 felony counts of invasive visual recording, was found to have two files on his computer containing child sexual assault material. Authorities uncovered these files while searching electronic devices seized from his family’s property on Lake Travis in Spicewood.
According to court records, the graphic images depicted girls aged 5 to 18, including explicit material involving a 7-year-old child.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children assisted in reviewing the content, while the FBI verified that some images matched a known child exploitation case from 2014. Authorities confirmed that these images had been circulated online.
Previous Charges & Hidden Camera Investigation
The new charge follows a previous hidden camera investigation, in which 13 victims accused Wasek of secretly recording them inside his home. Authorities discovered 68 videos filmed across eight rooms, as well as purchase records for multiple spy camera devices.
Legal Action & Ongoing Investigation
Wasek has now been formally charged with felony possession of child pornography. Law enforcement continues to investigate, and additional charges may be filed.
