
Woman Arrested in Trinity for Identity Theft and Drug Possession
TRINITY, NC — On July 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported theft in progress on Hillsville Road. Deputies and detectives from the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit located a woman matching the suspect’s description at the scene.
The suspect initially provided false identification, but a search revealed controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. She was later correctly identified as Miranda Natasha Opal Cole, who also had an active outstanding order for arrest.
Cole was taken into custody and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served with the outstanding warrant and given a preset $50 cash bond for that charge. She is scheduled to appear in Guilford County Court on August 1, 2025.
Additionally, the magistrate found probable cause for the following new charges:
Felony Identity Theft
Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance
Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
For these charges, Cole received a $15,000 secured bond and had her first court appearance scheduled for July 28, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
