A Milton Keynes man has been jailed for two years after stealing car parts worth around £1 million from his employer over a two-year period.

Konrad Labinski, 41, of Padstowe Avenue, Milton Keynes, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on 2 October after pleading guilty to theft by employee on 25 April.

Police began investigating on 4 March following reports of large amounts of stock missing from a car parts distribution centre. Investigators traced stolen goods being sold online via eBay, which led them to Labinski. He was arrested at work on 7 March and charged the following day.

A subsequent search of his home uncovered over 1,000 car parts, all of which were returned to the company. Labinski had worked for the firm for more than 20 years and exploited the trust given to him.

Detective Constable Vince Higgins said: “This investigation moved quickly to secure key evidence. Labinski has gone from a well-paid job with perks to prison, and this case highlights the severe consequences of employee theft.”
