Milo Henderson, 39, was sentenced to more than four years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges linked to a human trafficking investigation in Asheville in 2023. The sentencing took place on March 31, 2025, following a joint investigation between the Asheville Police Department and the Cherokee Indian Police Department.
Henderson pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Assault by strangulation
Promoting prostitution
Possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine
Possession with intent to sell/deliver methamphetamine
Maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances
Possession of drug paraphernalia
The investigation began in June 2023 when officers were investigating an individual with outstanding warrants. During the investigation, evidence of human trafficking was uncovered at the Econo Lodge on Tunnel Road. A search of the hotel rooms led to the discovery of a trafficking amount of methamphetamine and crack cocaine, which linked Henderson to the crimes.
Henderson was initially charged with human trafficking, sexual servitude, first-degree kidnapping, and assault. He was arrested in February 2024. As part of the plea deal, Henderson was sentenced to an active prison term of 53 to 82 months by Superior Court Judge Alan Thornburg.
The court also issued an order prohibiting Henderson from contacting the victim, who was informed and approved of the plea agreement.
