The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced the arrest of 19-year-old Mikeveione Dennis on multiple gun and drug charges following a traffic stop on Friday night.
Deputies stopped a vehicle for a broken light and identified the driver as Dennis. He was immediately arrested due to an active warrant for aggravated breach of peace issued on June 25.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered a controlled substance, as well as an AR-style rifle and a handgun. Both firearms were reportedly modified to fire fully automatic rounds, a serious violation of federal and state laws.
Authorities continue to investigate the case as Dennis faces several felony charges.
