St. Joseph County, Ind. – Three men have been arrested in connection with two separate shots-fired incidents on Friday night in St. Joseph County, according to local authorities.
The first incident occurred near Michigan Street and Adams Road, where a parked van was struck by bullets. Officers arrived at the scene and collected shell casings as evidence.
Shortly after, police responded to a second shooting near the 51000 block of State Road 933. Upon arrival, officers spotted four men fleeing into a wooded area. Three of them were apprehended and arrested:
Michael Winston, 23 – Charged with felon in possession of a firearm, criminal recklessness, and resisting law enforcement.
Angelo Perez, 24 – Charged with felon in possession of a firearm, criminal recklessness, resisting law enforcement, and had two felony warrants out of St. Joseph County.
Fabian Yanez, 20 – Charged with criminal recklessness and resisting law enforcement.
Weapons & Evidence Recovered
During the investigation, police recovered:
✔ An AK-47, believed to be used in the shooting
✔ A pistol-grip shotgun
✔ A handgun reported stolen from South Bend
✔ A second handgun found in the woods
✔ Numerous rounds of ammunition of multiple calibers
✔ Drug paraphernalia & marijuana
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office is currently reviewing the case to determine formal charges against the suspects.
