Tampa, FL — Michael Wilson, a security guard employed by Signal Security, was arrested on June 24 after explicit child pornography videos were discovered on a small camera found in his company vehicle.
The vehicle had been taken to a collision center when a company manager noticed the camera and reviewed its memory card, finding several explicit videos involving children. The manager immediately contacted law enforcement. Investigators believe Wilson, who worked security at the Brandywine Apartments in Tampa, recorded the videos and may appear in some of them.
Tampa Police confirmed Wilson was taken into custody without incident and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Additional charges are expected following further forensic analysis.
Court documents also revealed concerns that Wilson spent extended periods in a bathroom area frequented by children at the apartment complex.
Signal Security declined to comment on the case, and representatives from Brandywine Apartments were not available for comment.
Clara Reynolds, President and CEO of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, described the news as deeply troubling, emphasizing the need for vigilance in protecting children.
