Pueblo Police officers arrested a man with an extensive criminal history Wednesday on drug-related charges.
Officers responded after a Real Time Crime Center technician reported a man pushing a motorcycle under suspicious circumstances near 6th Street and Erie Avenue, east of downtown. The individual, 51-year-old Michael Salas, was contacted and found to have an active municipal warrant.
During the encounter, officers discovered a backpack hidden under Salas’ jacket containing methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl pills. An additional bag of suspected fentanyl was also recovered. In total, police seized approximately 90 grams of meth and nine grams of fentanyl pills.
Salas was charged with possession with intent to distribute and remains accountable for previous warrants related to failure to appear.
