Michael S. Jeffries Indicted for Sex Trafficking Scheme

Michael S. Jeffries, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, was indicted on Tuesday for allegedly orchestrating an international sex trafficking scheme during his time at the company. Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn have accused Jeffries, who led the clothing retailer from 1992 to 2014, of using force, fraud, and coercion to lure dozens of men to events worldwide, where they were sexually exploited.

From 2008 to 2015, Jeffries and another individual employed Jacobson as a recruiter. Jacobson allegedly paid men to engage in sexual acts with him, later selecting those who would accompany him to events in New York City and the Hamptons.

The indictment sheds light on serious allegations of exploitation and manipulation within the fashion industry, raising significant concerns about the practices that took place under Jeffries’ leadership.
